Biodynamic Body Psychotherapy

I am a UKCP registered Trainee Biodynamic Psychotherapist.

Biodynamic Psychotherapy is a holistic approach that integrates biological, psychological, and spiritual aspects of human development. At its core is the belief in the inherent wisdom and Life Force within each individual.

Biodynamic therapy focuses on cultivating the rhythmic, dynamic nature of the body's Life Force. The term "biodynamic" reflects this underlying belief, where "bio" represents the vital life energy, and "dynamic" signifies the fluid, pulsing movement and rhythm inherent within it. This therapeutic approach aims to encourage the authentic and unencumbered expression of this fundamental Life Force, which is seen as the foundation of physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.

This therapeutic approach can be beneficial for addressing physical ailments, such psychosomatic symptoms, as well as for gaining insights into challenging life situations. As a long-term process, biodynamic psychotherapy offers the opportunity to explore and release past emotional and physical holdings, allowing the individual to integrate these experiences and live more fully in the present.

The Biodynamic approach is inherently nurturing, supportive, and encourages individuals to connect with and express their authentic selves. As Gerda Boyesen, the founder of biodynamic psychology, stated, "We can get sick simply by repressing joy." Happiness, well-being, and spiritual connectedness are seen as the natural state of human beings, and the goal of biodynamic therapy is to help individuals return to this "Primary Personality" as much as possible.
