Sound Therapy

Sound therapy is a very gentle modality that can be very beneficial for many conditions, including stress, anxiety, depression and also physical conditions like muscular tension and chronic pain. Most people feel an increased sense of wellbeing after a session, feeling lighter, calmer and more grounded. I am a fully qualified sound therapist and I have trained extensively with several organisations and sound healers across the country. In my practice I use a mindful based technique to explore how some past situations might still be affecting your body and mind in the present moment and through therapeutic sound we try and shift how you feel about these issues.

Sound is a very effective medium to induce deep altered states of consciousness: in these states, you may have the chance to experience yourself beyond your conscious, analytical mind. One could say that you may see yourself from a ‘higher perspective’ and as a result the way you feel about a certain issue, or a certain situation might be different after a treatment. When this happens, even if temporarily, you start breaking up old behavioural patterns and you are slowly retraining your brain to have a different response to past traumas.

Altered states of consciousness are also essential to our optimal functioning: these ‘screensaver modes’ enable our bodies to maintain potassium sodium levels, restore our nervous system, recover from stress and repair cells, amongst other things.

I also facilitate weekly gong baths in Bounds Green, North London. Please go to my ‘Gong Bath’ section for more info.
